Little Angels opened its doors in the 1990s when Maryam, a mother of two daughters, Azi and Kati, turned a blossoming passion for early years childcare into a comprehensive service for parents and guardians.

Today, under the dedicated supervision and guidance of Azi, Little Angels Nursery continues to be a family-run business, driven by providing exceptional childcare and guided by our family legacy. Maryam, a psychologist, immigrated to the UK from Iran with her doctor husband in 1983. Having been accustomed to the close-knit Iranian family fabric, she found herself struggling to find caring and dedicated childcare for her two children —  a nurturing, residential-style environment where they could feel truly at home.

“These values continue to be at the heart of what we do every day at the Little Angels daycare nursery and we strive to retain the warmth, dedication, affection and care Maryam practised when caring for children.”

Maryam found settings across London impersonal, unengaged and not committed enough to her children. This inspired her to start a childminding business in 1990 that reflected her heritage. One where raising a child takes a village and everyone involved becomes family. Today, despite being long retired, she nevertheless keeps tabs on Little Angels Nursery and stops by regularly to check in on her daughter Azi and the childcare settings, which reflect what her passion has now blossomed into.

A few years before retiring, Maryam brought both of her daughters on board to pass it on to the next generation. Her daughter Azi took over in 2010 and still heads up the family-run nursery today.

And as is in her nature, Maryam still stops by regularly so you very well may meet her yourself one day!
