Little Angels cooking classes are a fun-filled experience that allow your children to learn about nutrition in an enjoyable and informative way. We teach the children easy to make, nutritious dishes so that they can see the benefits of a healthy and balanced diet from a young age.
Cooking classes are a fantastic way for your child to discover different flavours, textures and scents. We’ve found that the more involved children are with cooking, the more likely they are to try new things. This is especially important at a young age when everything is new to expand their appetite with new and interesting flavours.
The best part about Little Angels children’s cooking classes is that we are constantly teaching new recipes. We teach children about different flavours and tastes from different cultures such as pasta from Italy. This means that children are increasing their knowledge of foods from around the world!
What do children’s cooking classes involve?
All our cooking classes allow the children to use different cooking tools to help them develop their motor skills. This includes measuring ingredients on the scales, mixing ingredients with utensils and using food processors, all under close supervision.
Throughout the lessons, the children learn about the different ingredients they are using, nutritional benefits and how to prepare food. We explain the recipe step by step so that all our little chefs learn at the same pace. Throughout the lesson, we also teach the importance of food hygiene with regular hand washing and cleaning areas once the final dish is ready.
Young or old, the best way to learn a new skill is through fun activities that you want to come back to again and again. That’s why we include music, dancing and jokes as well as top tips for the children to remember.
What’s on the menu?
The menu in the Little Angels kitchen is constantly changing. Our aim is for the children to learn as many dishes and skills as possible during the children’s cooking classes and so often choose a variety of recipes for the children to try.
We select different recipes including savoury snacks, sweet treats, bakery, pasta and much more. All our recipes use fresh, organic ingredients and are nutritionally balanced so that the children can see the value of a varied diet.
Dishes that our little chefs have cooked in the past include
- Fruit Pancakes
- Fresh Pasta with tomato sauce
- Fairy Cakes
- Vegetable Face Pizzas
- Crumble Mix
The most important part of our cooking classes is that the children have fun and learn some new skills along the way. Our aim is for the children to have the confidence to try new things and taste new flavours. We believe that giving children the opportunity to experiment with food and recipes is the perfect way to do that!
