Hygiene
We understand that proper hygiene is absolutely crucial in our settings and a top priority for most parents and guardians.
This is why we truly go the extra mile when maintaining the cleanliness across our settings. For example, in keeping with our homely environment, no outdoor shoes are worn inside our settings. All staff wear disposable aprons and gloves when feeding, cleaning and changing the children. The toys are cleaned every Friday and the setting is cleaned at the end of each day with a deep sanitisation taking place weekly. The carpets in both settings also get cleaned regularly. Both our settings have received a 5 out of 5-star Food Hygiene Rating from the Southwark Council and Food Standards Agency.
Protective measures we are taking in light of COVID-19
It goes without saying that the safety of your child and of our staff members is and has always been our top priority. We are working hard following the latest government guidance, to develop and implement new ways of operating. This will allow us to open as safely as possible, focusing on measures that will help limit the risk of coronavirus transmission within our setting.
We have updated our policies and procedures in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated guidance from the government, a full copy of which is given to all our parents.
Some of the measures we will have implemented include:
- Temperature taking and recording upon arrival for all children and staff;
- Asking parents and guardians to physically distance from each other and from staff
- Time slots will be given to all parents for drop-offs and pick-ups
- Keeping our children in small groups with as much consistent staffing as possible
- Scrupulous and regular hand hygiene for all.
Please reach out to us with any questions and we’re happy to share a full copy of all measures with you.
Allergies
We are very conscious of cross-contamination for both allergic and hygienic reasons which is why we ensure that all surfaces are wiped down prior to eating and/or activities and each child’s hands are washed throughout the day including prior to meals and after playing outside.
children who are poorly
We also have a very strict but fair policy when it comes to children who are poorly so as to do our very best to ensure that any viruses caught are contained where possible. We believe this also helps us in our ability to provide a consistent and reliable bank of permanent staff members; since those who are poorly or infected are kept away from our settings until they are fully recovered. This policy is given to all parents and guardians upon registration.
